Evidence-based therapy to help you think differently, feel better and live your life more fully.

Evidence-Based integrative Therapy

THERAPY for change

Therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and begin to find new ways forward.

My approach is evidence-based and integrative, drawing on different therapeutic approaches depending on what best supports you. This may include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy

Our work together is thoughtful, practical and tailored to you. We explore what may be keeping the problem going, develop skills you can use in everyday life, and help you move towards the life you want to be living.

I work with clients online across the UK, and in person from North Warwickshire. Based near the Staffordshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire borders, with clients often coming from nearby areas including Tamworth, Burton upon Trent, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Lichfield, Nuneaton, Atherstone, and the surrounding Midlands.

What I can help with

You may know exactly what you’d like support with, or simply feel that something needs to change. Therapy can help you understand what you are experiencing, learn new ways of responding and take practical steps towards change.

These are some of the areas I most commonly support people with:

If any of this sounds familiar, you are in exactly the right place.

working together to support you

Learn how mindfulness can make a difference

Mindfulness helps you notice what is happening in your mind and body with more steadiness, so you can respond with greater awareness rather than being pulled along by every thought, feeling or urge.

The importance of values for a meaningful life

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, helps you change your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings, reconnect with what matters, and take meaningful steps towards the life you want to be living.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy brings together cognitive behavioural techniques, mindfulness and hypnosis to help you practise new ways of thinking, feeling and responding in everyday life.

You don't have to wait to feel better.

You don’t have to wait until anxiety eases, stress lifts, or your thoughts feel quieter before you begin building a life that feels like yours again.

In therapy, we make sense of what may be happening for you, what might be getting in the way, and how you can develop practical skills for everyday life.

Mindfulness is central to this work. It can help you notice thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations with more perspective, giving you space to respond with greater awareness and choice.

This is not about positive thinking or pushing hard feelings away. It is about learning to meet difficult experiences differently, so you can live, choose, and move forward with more freedom.

psychologist, integrative psychotherapist and coach

I know what it feels like to understand something in theory, but still find it difficult to put into practice. That gap between knowing what will help and being able to use it in daily life is often where therapy can make a real difference.

My work brings together psychology, therapy, coaching and mindfulness in a way that is practical, evidence-based and down to earth. I help people make sense of what is happening in their mind and body, build skills that work in real life, and move towards the changes they want to make.

You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. Many people start with a sense that something needs to change. My aim is to offer a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported, while also helping you develop practical tools and strategies you can use in everyday life.

Support that works around your life, wherever you are.

Therapy is available online across the UK, giving you access to support from wherever you are, in a way that fits easily around work, family and everyday life.

Many clients choose online therapy because it offers flexibility and convenience. Being able to connect from home, without travel time, can make it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and stay committed to the process.

If you are based locally, in-person therapy sessions are also available from North Warwickshire, close to the Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire borders. Clients often come from nearby areas including Tamworth, Burton upon Trent, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Lichfield, Nuneaton, Atherstone and the surrounding Midlands.

If you’re not sure whether online or in-person sessions would suit you best, we can talk it through during your free consultation.

frequently asked questions

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT, is a practical, evidence-based approach that helps you respond differently to difficult thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations.

Rather than trying to push uncomfortable experiences away, ACT helps you notice what is happening, create more space around unhelpful thoughts and feelings, and take meaningful steps towards the things that matter to you.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, or CBH, is an evidence-based approach that combines hypnotherapy with cognitive and behavioural techniques. It can help you practise new ways of responding to thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, or situations, often using hypnosis, therapeutic suggestion, imagery, and mental rehearsal.

Hypnosis in this context is very different from stage hypnosis. You are not asleep, unconscious, or under someone else’s control. It is usually experienced as a focused state of attention, where you remain aware, involved, and able to choose how you respond.

CBH can be particularly helpful when anxiety, stress, pain, habits, sleep difficulties, confidence, or performance anxiety are being maintained by patterns of fear, tension, avoidance, or self-doubt. It gives you a way to rehearse helpful responses in a focused state, so they become easier to access in everyday life.

It can also include self-hypnosis skills, so you have techniques you can continue to practise outside the therapy session.

The most helpful therapy for anxiety depends on how anxiety shows up for you. Cognitive behavioural approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy can all offer practical ways to understand anxiety and respond to it differently.

In therapy, we look at what is driving your anxiety, how it shows up in your thoughts, body, and behaviour, and what may be keeping it going. This might include worry, overthinking, physical anxiety symptoms, avoidance, panic, social anxiety, self-consciousness, or fear of being judged.

The aim is not just to calm anxiety in the moment, but to help you understand it, respond differently, and build the confidence to live with more freedom and less avoidance.

The most helpful therapy for chronic pain depends on the type of pain you are experiencing and how it is affecting your life. For chronic primary pain, NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, recommends considering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for pain, when delivered by appropriately trained professionals. Mindfulness also has a strong history in chronic pain work, with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction originally developed in medical settings for people dealing with stress, pain, and illness.

Therapy does not claim to cure pain. Instead, we look at how you respond to pain, what may be increasing the struggle around it, and how to build practical skills that reduce its impact on your life.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy can be a valuable part of chronic pain therapy. It can help you develop pain management skills, reduce pain-related fear and tension, and use imagery, mental rehearsal, and self-hypnosis to respond to symptoms with more steadiness and confidence.

Chronic pain is one of my specialist areas, with experience in fibromyalgia research, long-term conditions, and NHS pain management settings. The aim is to help you feel more confident in how you respond to symptoms, and to support you in reconnecting with the parts of life that matter to you.

The most helpful therapy for stress depends on what is creating the pressure, how your body and mind are responding, and what is keeping the cycle going. Relaxation can be helpful, but stress is rarely resolved by relaxation alone, especially when the demands on you are real.

In therapy, we look at your stress response, the patterns that may be maintaining it, and the practical changes that could help you feel more steady and in control. This might include working with overthinking, boundaries, pressure, perfectionism, emotional regulation, habits, and the way stress shows up in your body.

My approach draws on cognitive behavioural techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. I also have specialist training in stress management and resilience building, so this work is practical, evidence-based, and focused on helping you respond to life’s demands in a more sustainable way.

The aim is to help you feel calmer, clearer, and more able to cope, without constantly running on empty.

The most helpful therapy for sleep and insomnia depends on what is keeping the difficulty going. Sleep problems can become caught up with anxiety, overthinking, frustration, unhelpful routines, and the pressure to “try harder” to sleep.

In therapy, we look at the patterns that may be maintaining the struggle with sleep. This might include sleep effort, worry, stress responses, clock-watching, frustration around being awake, or the way your mind reacts when sleep does not come.

My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, and aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-I, which is one of the most researched psychological approaches for sleep difficulties.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy can also support sleep work by using focused attention, therapeutic suggestion, imagery, mental rehearsal, and self-hypnosis skills. This can help your mind and body practise settling, letting go of struggle, and responding differently to wakefulness.

The aim is not to force sleep, but to reduce the struggle around it and create better conditions for rest and sleep to happen more naturally.

Therapy packages start from £600 for six sessions, including a 90-minute in-depth assessment. Payment plans are available.

I work through therapy packages because they give us enough time to understand what is happening, begin developing practical skills, and review what is changing over time. Before booking a package, the first step is a free 30-minute consultation, where we can talk through what you need and whether working together feels right.

Yes. I offer online therapy across the UK via Zoom, so you can access support from a private space that feels comfortable for you. Online therapy can make sessions easier to fit around work, family, and everyday life, without travel time or needing to be local.

Alongside sessions, you’ll have access to the Your Mind Works app, where personalised resources, guided audios, exercises, and prompts can be shared to support you between sessions.

You’ll also have access to a secure client portal, where you can view documents and manage your appointments. The client portal link is available in the top menu of this website.

Therapy also includes six months’ access to The Membership, with additional resources, guided practices, live sessions, and workshops to support your wider wellbeing.

Research suggests that online therapy can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy for many common difficulties, especially when there is a good therapeutic relationship, clear structure, and practical work between sessions.

Some clients prefer meeting online because it feels more comfortable, private, or easier to fit into a busy week. With Your Mind Works, the app also gives you a clear place to revisit practices, reflect between sessions, and build on what we cover in therapy.

If you are unsure whether online or in-person therapy would suit you best, we can talk it through during your free consultation.
